Did I say that The Human Equation by Ayreon was my probably Album of the Year for this year? I was wrong. That title currently belongs to Be by Pain of Salvation. I won’t go into too much details (in fact, I haven’t even finished listening to it for the first time – it’s THAT GOOD that I can speak of its greatness before it’s even FINISHED!) but it’s a concept album of amazing depth, breadth and scope, ranging from chunky metal riffs to orchestral beauty to big imposing church organs to folky stuff to emotion-drenched Jeff Buckley-esque vocals to…well, there’s something here for everyone.
Buy it when it comes out. That’s an order.
